Throughout December I will be blogging a few of the weddings from this past season. My Fall was filled with editing and getting the final product to my clients, and I’m so happy to finally have the chance to bring some of these photos to you.
I’m starting with Jalisa and Travis in Rosebud, Alberta. An unconventional destination wedding spot just outside of Calgary. This tiny town has a lot of heart. It is actually a thriving artist’s colony. The Rosebud School of the Arts and The Rosebud Theatre have turned this little community into a prime destination for the arts. With its incredible charm, Rosebud served as the perfect destination for this wedding.
Jalisa and Travis chose this destination because their roots are in the prairies. They currently live in Calgary, but have family and friends from all over Alberta. It was fitting to have everybody meet in Rosebud.
I still can’t get over the special bond that these two wonderful people share. It was easy to just let them do their thing while I clicked away. Jalisa and Travis were happy to let me shoot in my own creative style. Their only request: I had to get shots in the wheat fields because Jalisa’s father is a wheat farmer. It was scorching and the sun was bright, but we got some incredible shots. I am still thanking my lucky stars that the owner of the field didn’t catch us flattening his crops. I hope that my good karma from the past will make up for our mini crop massacre.
