My goal in a season is to have many different types of weddings with a wide range of couples and the various styles they bring to the table. At the end of the day however, the most important thing is the love between the couples. Enter Chrissy and Nicholas’ chic wedding. I like to think I do chic pretty well (when I need to haha), but sometimes you meet a couple and can’t help but be blown away. Chrissy and Nicholas don’t do chic, they embody it. So what else could I possibly expect for their Entrepôt Dominion wedding in Montreal? From the food to the decor (hello mirrored tables and florals dripping from the ceiling) plus everything in between, this wedding had it all, but most importantly it had Chrissy and Nicholas. A big shoutout to Elyna for planning and putting together a perfect day (check for the link to her website below)!
Also, a little note for any brides-to-be, Chrissy will show you that capes can absolutely be classy! If you’re head-over-heels for more chic wedding inspiration check out Ben and Dom’s wedding in Toronto!
How did you two meet? We met through friends at a sugar shack in 2013
Did you know right away that he/she would be the one? (Chrissy) I didn’t know right away. I’ve always kept my guard up. A few months into our relationship I discovered that Nicholas has a pure and tender heart. He made me feel like I could trust him wholeheartedly. He made me feel safe and protected. (something I’ve never felt before). (Nicholas) I definitely knew that Chrissy was a good catch when I first met her but the more I got to know her the more I wanted to know her better. It was only after we started dating and I got to know everything about her that I truly fell in love with her and after that it was clear that she was the one I wanted to marry.
Do you fart in front of each other? Nick farts in front of me lol. But I don’t fart in front of him. Although he has seen the less glamorous side of me!
Who gets up faster in the morning? I’m up in the am. Nick can sleep 24 hrs a day.
What was your biggest most meaningless fight (ex fighting about something weird like whether the sound you hear outside is a cow or not…this actually happened with me and my gf) Our biggest and most meaningless fights are always about cleaning the house.
How did you choose Entrepôt Dominion as the venue for your wedding? I started researching venues and came across images of this beautiful candlelit industrial room and saw that it was Entrepôt. I called that day and we scheduled a visit. We both loved it.
Why did you choose me to be your wedding photographer? Choosing a photographer was very difficult. Our wedding planner gave us a list of names and photos of their work (all very beautiful). After a few phone “interviews” we still weren’t sold on anyone and had asked Elyna for someone else. She had suggested you but told us she hadn’t worked with you yet so she couldn’t’ offer any feedback aside that your photos were amazing. After taking a look at your photos, and Instagram page, we decided to give you a call. It just so happened it was the day you moved into your new condo. We probably spent 45 mins on the phone and you were telling me about the move, and how you were running around the city trying to buy a fan but all the stores were sold out. (It was a scorcher!!) I loved that you were so real! Over the phone and in person. You’re good peoples Brent!
What was your favourite moment of the day? (Chrissy) My favourite moment of the day was me walking down the stairs at my inlaws house to present myself to Nick. Also, walking out of the church after the ceremony to see all of our friends and family. (Nicholas) Favourite moment was in the car on the way to the venue after the ceremony.
What was your favourite image(s) from the day? (Chrissy) Favourite image.. impossible question! All of them but the ones that stand out most for me are our first kiss as husband and wife at the church… The one of me, Nick and Stanley… I love them all really. (Nicholas) Love the ones of Chrissy coming down the stairs and the one of us walking down the aisle on our way out of the church. (Also) The ones at the college with the sky.
Is there one thing you would recommend future couples getting married? Take moments throughout the day alone and with your partner just to stop and take in all the beauty and love.
