Sanan and Ziad in Los Angeles, Catching up on the weddings and engagements from Quebec and Ontario is a massive job. I get super into the weddings I photograph and I take a lot of photos. A lot. Like a lot a lot. Narrowing them down is always the hardest part. It’s insane how fast the work piles up before I have a chance to sit and take stock of my editing to-do list.
The California engagement shoot was for Sanan and Ziad. They are a gorgeous, badass couple whose wedding will be held in Joliette, Quebec at La Distinction on August 9, 2017. These two originally met in Montreal and when Sanan moved to California. It didn’t take long for Ziad to make the decision to follow. It might have been the draw of the sunshine and endless summers, but I’m pretty sure Ziad made the move entirely for Sanan. It’s not hard to see why, she really is a one-of-a-kind bride. Ziad is one of the most chilled out people I’ve ever met. Sanan told me that was one of the things that won her heart. I’m sure Ziad’s deep blue eyes were also a big part of it 😉 These guys are perfect for each other.

This Quebec couple may be a California couple now, but I’m really happy they decided to return to their Montreal roots for their wedding. I’ve been so lucky to have the best couples over the years. I get luckier with each passing year.
We did Sanan and Ziad’s engagement shoot in LA the week before I had to be in San Francisco, and they were the best hosts. We started in Pasadena and chased the light out to Santa Monica and Venice Beach. These two totally nailed the casual-chic wardrobe, and Sanan’s wild tangle of curls and makeup-free face sealed the deal on this effortlessly beautiful engagement shoot.
The shoot was a blast, and the LA sunset was to die for. (Literally. The pollution is what makes it look even nicer than it is 😉 )
I loved spending time getting a sense of Ziad and Sanan’s personalities. It almost went by too fast. I can’t wait to photograph these guys and their families when they all come together in Joliette. People will be flying in from all corners of the globe. It’s going to be an epic affair. Remember these faces, you’ll be seeing more of these two (and their Joliette wedding) soon!
